MAIN STREET CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING
Our Christmas Tree Lighting took place on November 27th this year. It took place at our new tree on the north east corner of Dr Kay and Main Streets.
As is tradition the winner of the Community Votes category of the SVA's Schomberg Scarecrow Competition lit the tree.
This year it was the King Royals - the under 18 AA Girls hockey team who won for their hockey player scarecrow which was located at, fittingly, the Trisan Centre. The Royals were represented by Assistant Coach Theresa Ella, and player Ella Weir, who turned the lights for us.
Our entertainment was provided by Rory Mackinnon and Katherine McManus on the pipes, The Musical Gangl Family and The Voices of Joy Community Choir.
Our thanks to BluMarble for the hot chocolate, and to Tim Hortons for the freshly baked cookies.
Our thanks to community services for arranging the purchase and planting of our new Christmas tree, as well as providing electricity and the decoration.
